Our Approach
UNDERSTAND...
In order to heal, understanding must first take place. Trobak Holistic Counselling supports clients in gaining an understanding of their behaviours, actions, feelings, emotions and physical symptoms. Clients also gain a deeper understanding of past trauma, abuse, and experiences and how these create and develop the core belief not good enough, not important, not valued. The brain often relies on historical contexts when making current decisions; by understanding the impact of past experiences, clients can learn to make choices that are grounded in the present rather than influenced by the past.
RESOLVE...
Once understanding is achieved, the process of resolution can begin. Trobak Holistic Counselling supports clients in addressing both current and past issues by focusing on the emotional consequences of their life experiences. Each experience generates emotions, and while the past cannot be altered, the emotions tied to those events persist and influence daily decisions. Clients challenge the core belief not good enough, not important and not valued that has been reinforced through their experiences. Our approach enables clients to sift through the emotional impact and core beliefs of their past experiences, facilitating healing and promoting personal growth.
HEAL...
Once understanding and resolution have been achieved, clients can experience genuine healing. Trobak Holistic Counselling encourages clients to pursue both comprehension and resolution, allowing for profound and complete healing. When healing occurs, clients are better equipped to assess their experiences based on present circumstances rather than being triggered by past trauma. This shift empowers individuals to engage with their lives more fully and positively with the core belief good enough, important and valued.

About Sabrina
Sabrina Trobak, a lifelong resident of Fort St. John, returned to her hometown in 2010 after completing her education. She holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and has received extensive training in family violence, and resolving past trauma utilizing a holistic therapy approach focused on the core belief not good enough, not important. Additionally, Sabrina is a published author of various psychology-based papers, contributing to the field.
Prior to her counselling career, Sabrina earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education and dedicated over 20 years to the public school system. During her tenure, she taught across all educational divisions—elementary, junior high, and senior high—and served as a learning assistance teacher, vice principal, and school counsellor.
In 2023, Sabrina published her book, "Not Good Enough: Understanding Your Core Belief & Anxiety," which serves as a valuable resource for individuals seeking to enhance their mental health, particularly those who may not have access to counselling services.
Since founding Trobak Holistic Counselling in 2010, Sabrina has provided counselling services and has been a Clinical Supervisor since 2012, guiding both clients and fellow professionals in their journeys toward healing and personal growth.
